Gmail - Fwd: "Who Killed the Electric Car" NEWS June 2006

N E W S June 2006

Greetings!

The countdown begins . With less then two weeks before our film opens in New York and Los Angeles (and then across the US in July and August), everything depends on our opening weekends. Feel free to forward this email to get the word out . Anything you can do to get people to theaters will be invaluable. Thank you!

Here's what's included in this newsletter:

1) U.S. and Canada National Release Dates
2) Invitation to Premiere Party in Los Angeles (June 24th!)
3) Press, Reviews, Videos

It's been incredible journey these past two months. After our sneak preview at Sundance and big efforts by our team, we mastered a beautiful 35mm print just in time for the San Francisco Film Festival. Our San Francisco audience included family and old friends, EVers and local celebrities like Larry Ellison. The Tribeca Film Festival in New York continued the roll and the reunions. Battery pioneers Stan and Iris Ovshinsky joined our Q&A at Lincoln Center cinemas. Next up was Telluride for a raucous screening at Mountain Film where we won an Audience Award and a "Truth is Power" audience award. Next up was Seattle and Atlanta for their gala festivals. At a private screening in New York City Michael Moore introduced us to invited guest . He said "Who Killed" was this summer's 1-2 punch with Inconvenient Truth and said democracies depend on an an informed public. (And of course documentaries depend on cameos from GM's ex-CEO Roger Smith). We also met Al Gore at his premiere in Los Angeles who said he loved our film and that it made a perfect double bill. Our trailer now runs in front of most screenings of Inconvenient Truth .

The film's success now depends on you . Buzz to your friends, calls to theaters in your home town requesting a print (if it isn't screening near you) and boxoffices are the results that make the difference in getting the word out . Anything you can do to buy tickets early and get friends to the theater on opening days is so appreciated . THANK YOU!
