A Ten Point Manifesto For Electric Scooters

It's a simple idea.

What I want to see is a well designed, electric, scooter that:

1. Can support 300 pounds traveling weight
2. Has a comfortable seat you can easily fold or remove
3. You can take on an elevator, escalator, and is light enough to carry up stairs
4. You can tuck in a cubicle to recharge, or similar work/school place
5. Goes at least 30 miles on a charge
6. Has a speed of 30 miles per hour, or better
7. Takes 30 minutes to recharge
8. Has a daily operating cost of 30 cents a day, at most
9. Has handlebars and seat that will fold up so as you can roll it down the sidewalk behind you like a traveling suitcase when not riding it
10. Costs no more than $300.00
Is this do-able?

Of course it is, most of the above elements are already in place, and already on the market, with the exception of speed, range, battery power and price.
